District 29 faces transportation grid lock.  As Pearland, Alvin and Manvel grow they are increasingly being choked by too many cars on not enough road.  Matagorda County is not far behind.  Instead of real solutions we are being offered TOLL ROADS managed by foriegn corportations.  We can do better.  This page is a place to brainstorm real transportation solutions.

As I cross the district I hear the same thing again and again: People want us to fix transportation.  Austin and Washington bureaucrats are busy wringing their hands and telling us that the only way to build roads in Texas is Private Tollways run by foriegn companies.  It is time for us to stand up and demand better answers from our elected leaders.  We can do better than private roads run for the profit of foriegn companies.  This page is about getting your ideas and taking them to Austin.  We are going to have a hard fight.  I'm ready. Robert from Pearland says we should use the 288 right of way to extend the Metro lightrail from 610 to outside beltway 8 in Pearland.  [I've been told by officials that they have already planned all this land for "managed access lanes"  (this is a euphamism for TOLL ROAD)]
